More Seat Swivel in a John Deere 7R, 8R and 9R Series Tractors
If you spend more time looking out your back window than the front, this new bracket is going to be a life saver! It only took about 2 hours in a John Deere 8360RT to start wishing that the seat would rotate just a little bit more. After about 6 hours and a sore spot on the side of my right leg, I knew what I had to do.
While it would be great if the whole seat would swivel more, a much simpler and less costly fix would be to just move the Command Arm over and angle it a little more. There is plenty of room to do it between the back corner post and window.
The Control Arm Swivel Bracket is made out of 1/4" steel which matches the same thickness as the OEM seat bracket. It is powder coated black to match too. This kit will move the John Deere Command Arm in an 7R, 8R and 9R Series Tractor over about 2" in the back and about 8" in the front. Increasing the angle compared to the seat, allows for the operator of the tractor to turn around more in the seat making it easier to look out the back window.
The Swivel Bracket has two mounting positions, but most of the time the standard mounting position will work fine. If you have a 6th remote pod on your Command Arm, you will want to mount the swivel bracket in the higher position for clearance. There is no limit to the function of the Command Arm. It will still move up and down, just like before.
